I may not know much (yet) , but I do know how hard it is to struggle with yourself to become the better version we all strive to be. In reality, I am just a college student from New Jersey trying to share my knowledge ( what I know so far ) with as many people who will listen to me as my knowledge grows. Living a health lifestyle and being “fit” has always been extremely important to me, and I say “fit” because we all have our own definitions of what fit may be. I know that everyone at some point in their life will struggle with something, it’s inevitable. I unfortunately had an accident at the most inconvenient time of my life, during my peak high-school cheerleading career; and no I mean REAL cheerleading like competitive. But this injury had caused me to sit back and watch life go past me for a year as I try to recover and let my body heal, but that can be a challenge when I was so used to be on-the-go always.
I have always been a super active person and defiantly consider myself an adrenaline junkie but sometimes I think I get too ahead of myself. But at some point, life hits you and something does go wrong. I was in a snowboarding accident that lead me to shift my spine and cut off some nerves in my leg. Me, being the stubborn person I am had just brushed it off and ignored all signs that something was not right. After a year and a half of struggling with back pain and numbness down and around my leg, I had hit my breaking point when I would lose feeling in my toes and it never returned. I knew I had to get help, and after countless doctors and tests I had had corrective surgery. The road to recovery was long and hard, especially for someone like me who can not sit still.
I have used my experience to help me grow as a person and has lead me to a stronger love for fitness and living a healthy life. I dedicate my time now to working out and learning more and more about “living our best lives,” mentally and physically.
I hope my blog is helpful to those struggling whether it be with an injury, the gym, nutrition or finding the motivation to do any of it. I want to help YOU achieve your goals and feel good about YOU!
